Julie Daniels is a member of the Oklahoma State Senate, representing District 29. She assumed office on November 23, 2016. Her current term ends on November 22, 2028. Daniels was selected as Senate majority leader effective February 3, 2025. Daniels was the second woman to serve as Senate Floor Leader. Daniels was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1976 and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1979. Daniels was mayor of Bartlesville, Oklahoma — roughly 50 miles north of Tulsa — and was a member of the city council for eight years. She also served on the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission and the Oklahoma Centennial Commemoration Commission, and was president of Boys & Girls Club of Bartlesville for 13 years. Daniels served on the board of the American Legislative Exchange Council beginning as early as 2024 and served as the organization's treasurer in 2025. Daniels first won election to the Oklahoma Legislature in 2016.
